Dr. Michael O’Neil is a native of Louisiana having been born in New Orleans. He was raised and educated throughout the Southeast and considers Tampa, Florida his hometown. He attended Florida State University where he earned his undergraduate degree.
Dr. O’Neil received his dental degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1987. He then completed two, one year, hospital based dental programs: a general practice residency at the Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC and an oral and maxillofacial internship at the LSU/ Charity Hospital and Clinics in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. O’Neil completed his four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency in 1993 at the Medical College of Georgia. MCG is where he and Dr. Sato first became friends.
Dr. O’Neil has been in private practice for over 20 years, having served communities and hospitals in both Florida and Alabama. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has maintained a full scope practice with particular interests in dental implants, all aspects of dentoalveolar surgery and office based anesthesia.
Dr. O’Neil has been married for over 26 years. He and his wife, Jane, are very excited about their new adventure and look forward to enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. The O’Neil’s three children are all out of the house. He is an instrument rated pilot holding a commercial single and multi-engine license. On land, he is an enthusiastic bird hunter and fisherman.
