Meet Dr. O’Neil
Dr. Michael O’Neil is a native of Louisiana, having been born in New Orleans. He was raised and educated throughout the Southeast and considers Tampa, Florida his hometown. He graduated from Florida State University, earning his undergraduate degree in Biology.
Dr. O’Neil received his dental degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He then completed two one year hospital-based dental programs: a General Practice Residency at the Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC and an Oral and Maxillofacial Internship at the LSU/ Charity Hospital and Clinics in New Orleans, LA. In addition, Dr. O’Neil has an MBA from the University of South Florida.
Dr. O’Neil completed his four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. MCG is where he and Dr. Sato first became friends.
Dr. O’Neil has been in private practice for over 25 years, having served communities and hospitals in both Florida and Alabama. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has maintained a full scope practice with particular interests in dental implants, all aspects of dentoalveolar surgery and office-based anesthesia.
Dr. O’Neil has been married for over 30 years and has three grown children. He is an instrument rated pilot, holding both a commercial single and multi-engine license. On land, he is an enthusiastic bird hunter, fisherman, and craft beer connoisseur.
